Ooooo, good question right?
Ever asked this question to yourself?
Does it go along if one believes in Karma? I have a good blog about that. (Link on the left side).
Jeremiah asked God for us about this situation a Long time ago. Of course, the context of this scripture is during a time when the Israelites were about to be dismantled by Babylon and go into 70 years of exile. Is this boring to you? Make it applicable.
I challenge you to read, disect, and discern Jeremiah 12 and Isaiah 54:8-10. If not, then go ahead and read my version of what I get from it.
1st of all, a question like this exudes comparison. I say that comparison is "a curse that leaves a path of personal destruction".
I personally call what I've found an "invisible rainbow". It's a reminder I found deep in the Old Testament. Most educated people are aware that the meaning behind a rainbow is the everlasting covenant/sign God put in the sky after the Flood saying/showing He'll never do it again.
Wanna know where da gold at? (Watch Leprechaun in Mobile on youtube to understand)
God references that what he did with Noah and the flood in Isaiah 54! This was an incredible discovery for me personally, because after reading through Ezekiel and most of Isaiah, it can get tough to read at times. It's the message of "Israelites are stubborn, and 99% of them are going to die….very badly." How fun is that to read?!
I was wondering where God comes out and says after this exile, He won't do something like it again…and this is The Verse! (Well, there's many other ones in the OT). Again, reading through Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekial can be tough. It's chapter after chapter of God's frustration with Israel and the coming doom of it.
GOD ANSWERS THE COMPLAINT
Please bear with me fore I will explain it via my rendition. God explains of Him "abandoning His inheritance (Israel)". The Israelites have become stubborn, are unfaithful, worshipping other gods/idols, and not listening to His Prophets (Isaiah and Jeremiah at the time). God's Anger was definitely against the Israelites as a whole. With this exile and coming destruction, He will then "uproot" others who try to come the Israelites.
THEN, He will "again have compassion and bring them back to their own Inheritance". If they learn the ways of Him and swear by God…and not the Baals, they will be established upon His people. If not listen, "I will completely uproot and destroy it, Declares the Lord." Realistically, don't compare yourself, judge, and put yourelf down. Take control of your thoughts (2 Cor. 10:5). Being a "Christian" should never be "Easy", since Jesus is hated by the World.
So, how is Jeremiah's complaint of unfaithful people having it easy is related to this "rainbow"? Isaiah 54:8-10 shows us that He was "sworn not to be angry with you". "He will have compassion on you."
GOD IS NOT ANGRY WITH YOU AND ESPECIALLY AMERICA! KATRINA, 9/11, AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU THINK IS A WAY GOD IS DISCIPLINING YOU OR AMERICA IS STUPID! GOD IS A PROMISE KEEPER! HE SHOWS COMPASSION AND OFFERS US GRACE.
America is Not God's "Promise Land" nor His Favorite country. Sorry to bust your bubble.
Be encouraged! Take Heart! Apply it to you and your thoughts on God and the Bible. It's brought great revelation to me.
