These thoughts are brought along for this past “Father’s Day“. We live in a World where there are So Few Good, Solid, and Respected Fathers. When I was a kid, I always remember the conversation of “My dad is Better than Your dad because…“, but what about now? Do some kids even dare to say such things if there Isn’t a dad at home? As the time goes by, it Seems as if there’s Less and Less guys out there “manning up” and accepting the role of a Father…and trying there best at that too.
You ever said the lines “I’m never going to be like that man”.
You ever grew up in a single parent household with your mom.
You never got to “wrestle” with your dad.
You never had a dad to throw ball with.
You never had a dad to be there for your sports games.
You never had a dad to tuck you in at night.
You never had a dad to share of awesome adventure stories in a far-away land.
You never had a dad to teach you proper Right from Wrong.
You never had a dad to teach you how to respect Women.
You never had a dad to speak LIFE/Encouragement over you.
You never had a dad to tell you that you make him Proud.
Your dad physically abused…Emotionally abused…and/or sexually abused you.
Your dad sold you.
Your dad never cared…Ever.
Your dad took control of every single aspect of your life.
Your dad was there, but never really invested to get to KNOW you (ignored your existence).
Your dad never disciplined you (properly).
Your dad and mom divorce left you scarred. Leaving you with only uncertain thoughts and hurt.
Your dad was disappointed in you, because you didn’t fill his “expectations” of Your life.
You grew up around those who told you that a Man was to live without emotion or feelings.
Your dad never shared about How Good God is or the Holy Spirit with you.
You think marriage is a stupid idea due to your parents horrific example.
You think that a Man and a Woman shouldn’t have to marry to live together.
Your dad’s “addiction” left the family in shambles.
…The list goes on.
This may only splash against those “walls” you have set up, but I Am Sorry.
Why should I care? Because I am Sick and Tired of “guys” in this world who run around caring only about themselves and not pouring into and Being a Real Man for their Family.
I see it as a degrading cycle of Death. Kids growing up not knowing or having a solid dad as a role model. Boys desiring to be the baddest/richest/coolest of em all. Girls clueless of their value and throwing their life away. All for what? Worldly desires and non-sense. Satan’s Lies.
BuT! I have GoOd news! For Any and Everybody. This might make you 2nd guess and question, but seek it out for yourself! It’s in The Book!
Woah! Woah! Woah!
Before you immediately turn away, look What He Says! Look! Stop Ignoring!
If you for some really odd reason don’t like reading Scripture..let me explain in 3rd grade terms.
We are Adopted as God’s Son/Daughter. He is Our Father in Heaven. We are able to unlock His Riches, which are meant for us when we go after Him. The Spirit of God lives Inside of Us. We have not been given a spirit of Fear, but of Power through God. God is with us. He has Not forgotten about us.
So, how does this translate into reality? You acknowledge HIM, acknowledge who You are in Him, the past is the past, forgive and move forward, and He will Be with us as we desire to be with Him.
This is what the God of the Universe who created the stars, every inch on earth, You, and Me SAYS.
Psalm 2:7-8 “I will proclaim the Lord’s decree;
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.
Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.”
2 Corinthians 6:18 “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty”
Romans 8:14-16 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”
Adoption means you Get Inheritance.
ABBA…makes it Personal. Jesus called HIM Abba once in the garden before he was crucified. We are able to be on that same personal level with God, because of Jesus.
Galatians 3:28-29 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all ONE in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 4:1-7 “What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.”
