Hello From Eldoret, Kenya! We Are Safe and Sound! I will have limited internet access while out here. We will be working with all sorts of Mission work. Mainly focusing on evangelizing, going house to house, sharing The Truth with others, and just Loving Everyone. There’s So many Christians here in Kenya, however Lots of them still practice other rituals and worship other Idols. There are Lots of Churches here. More than I’ve seen in the past 4 months! However, after discussing with the Pastor that many Christians are SO easily drawn away to the practices from their ancestry.
With this month I’ll have a lot of free time. I’ve had tons of ideas, thoughts, and questions I get to share with my teammates. I have a few prayer requests. I’ve had several times of noticing little lies that are in my head that question what I believe, and I know it’s Satan (or it may be God even). Anyways, it’s helping me build a more solid foundation and understanding of What & Why I believe in God. I’m trying harder and searching for more quiet time with Him, because I desperately want to Hear Him and Visions.
I’ll try my best to update in about a week or so of what has been going on, and I know God’s gonna take me on a Crazy Adventure while here. I’m Really Excited! As for Kenya and my expectations…well. Part of the landscape is what I expected. I didn’t expect lush green forests, huge mountains with beautiful flowing landscape, smoother roads from what I expected, a nice bus to ride in, and several other things. Also, COLD Weather!?!?! It’s like 50 degrees in the mornings and night here…It’s cold when you’ve been experiencing 80 and 90 degree weather for the past 8 months. The people here are quite friendly and the Swahili language is pretty cool.
I am missing my friends a bit who are at Passion, and I hope and pray that another HUGE Wave of Die-Hard Christians will come out of this year’s conference. Regarding Football…UGA how dare you lose to UCF, I got Auburn in the Championship, I know The Heesch’s (our Squad Coaches) are unhappy due to Wisconsin losing to TCU, and I’m definitely rootin’ for dem Dirty Bird Falcons!
Here’s an interesting photo from our living location.
