We are in Kenya, East Africa right now! Its been amazing, we lived with an incredible family up in the mountains near a place called Kitali, Kenya. We worked with the Pokot people, they are a nomadic tribe from Kenya. They move and live wherever their is land and water for their animals to graze.

(400 kids singing and waiting)
Our ministries this month consisted of many different things:
- we preached at a prison
- preached door to door
- shared God’s love at a nursery and secondary school (where there was over 400 students outside waiting and singing for us…incredible!!)
- encouraged members of our pastors church by coming to their homes and having lunch and inviting the neighbors to come her the Good News of Jesus.
- We ministered to our family and neighbors with laughter and love:)
God blessed our month with health, protection, and the opportunity to see souls be saved through His blood!
One thing in particular that blessed me and was such an honor was having a Kenya woman name her child after me…crazy huh!
Here’s the story:
One of the days I was preaching at a church members home. At the end we were praying for the people there and my Kenyan momma told me about her friend who was in labor. So I was praying for the baby and mother. The next day we happened to be right next to the hospital. We found out the baby had just been born so we went to see the baby and mom. We arrived literally 20 min after the baby was born, I enter this room full of 6 other random women in labor and get handed this beautiful and perfect little girl. She hadn’t even had her first bath yet! Then the mom comes walking in with normal clothes on already…those african women are strong!
(Beautiful and Perfect baby!)
I’m holding this precious baby girl, amazed at the chance to hold her. I began to pray for her and her mom. I pray a blessing over her and when I finish they told me to name the baby 🙂 I was like, uh isn’t that the mom’s job! So, I end up saying the name of Grace, feeling like the Lord said that over her.
We leave the hospital, amazed at the new life God just created. The next day I get a call that said the baby’s mom named her Bethany!!
Shocked and honored, I thanked God for the opportunity to be apart of this child’s life. It made me realize the incredible influence that I can make on a place. Now there will forever be a girl named Bethany in the village of my Kenyan home.
Names in Africa are based on the meanings, so I gave the mother the meaning of
Bethany. “House of figs or House of God. Life-town, the home of Lazarus whom was raised from the dead by Jesus.”
Baby Bethany will bring the life to all she meets, she will bring the joy and love of God because of our amazing Savior, Jesus!
Please pray for her protection and salvation!
