On Tuesday I was able to spend an hour in the Lords presence worshiping, it was wonderful.  I was listening to a song called Turn down the Music, by Shane and Shane.  It says if we see people who are hungry, would we feed them; if they are naked, would we cloth them;  if they are orphans, would we give our homes?  I felt the Lord saying feed those who are hungry, cloth those who are naked. I was immediately broken, my heart longs to provide for those in need.  To show them they are beautiful and they have a creator in heaven who thinks they are delightful reguardless of what they have done.    A Savior who has come to this earth and died on the cross so they may live in eternity with him in Heaven and he desires to be their father and provider.
The 3 teams who are staying at Casa Shalom decieded to have a ATL(Ask the Lord) day.  As a team we spent time in prayer asking where the Lord would have us go and do ministry that day.  We all recieved different words from the Lord and they all came together and we ended up at the park across the street from the Parlament building. Our team  arrived at the park and we decieded to split in half, 3 of them stayed at the park but the Lord revealed to Heather the middle of downtown with lots of people.  We did not know what that looked like but knew God had something in store.  Tom, Heather and I headed out in obedience of what we believed he had for us.  As we were walking we came across a women named Keta.  She asked for a smoke but I felt that she was the person we were meant to minister to.  She did not speak any English but with the little bit of Romanian we knew tried to communicate.  We found out her name was Keta and then pointed to her arm where she had a tattoo of the name David.  She then motioned as if she were holding baby.  She pointed towards the alley and motioned for us to follow.   We followed her into an ally and as we arrived  saw a tiny baby, only 3 months old lying on cardboard next to a women named Maria. Next to them was a dog house filled with blankets which we later realized that was where David slept.   As soon as I walked up and saw David on the ground my heart broke, I so despirately wanted take care of him.  He was so small and fragel.  I then asked if I could hold him and she gladly gave him to me. He was such a beautiful little boy and I knew he was a child of God. I noticed he was wheezing and began praying for him. We began singing and as soon as I did David’s wheezing stopped.  As long as I was singing or humming his wheezing was gone but the moment I stopped it returned.  I’m not exactly sure why it happened that way but I hope that he felt God’s presence and love through my words even though he could not understand.
I was reminded how that morning the Lord spoke so clearly if they are hungry, will you feed them. I knew this was what he was calling us to do.  We went and got the women meals and made sure they had more than enough.   We enjoyed spending time with them and showing them that God will always provide. Heather drew pictures of how Jesus loved them.  We did not have the words to say but the Lord reminded me that HIS LOVE transcends all language barriers.  We prayed that the Lord would use us to encourage someone’s spirit and let them know how much he loved them and he did just that. We will be going back tomorrow to love on them and bring food and clothes.  The Lord has called us to provied food, clothing, etc, for those in need and we are blessed that he has chosen us to do so.
