terrible! My friend asked me to tell the prospective English teacher in
front of me.
I struggled to get out the words and I just couldnt.
hard.
For those of you that need an update on my life, I spent
March 2012 to March 2013 teaching English in South Korea. Why
you ask? My year
there allowed me to pay off all my college debt and save for the future.
connect or enjoy a lot of the Korean culture. I was living alone in a studio
apartment. My job wasn’t the most enjoyable and I had long hours. I had
committed to something after my year in Korea that I knew I was going to love.
And it was the longest I had ever been away from America.
I had written in my
G42 summary that,
are, you can thrive wherever you are.
the things I had learned in the past 5 years. Through my 2 World Race trips,
living in Colorado and my 6 months in Spain God had been teaching me a lot.
Namely that choosing your attitude is extremely important and that the core of
life is in what we give away to the world and people around us.
There were so many dreary days where the day looked exactlylike the last. Days where I was a few seconds from smashing a disrespectful 6th
graders head against a wall. Days in which my patience and love felt like they
were being stretched to the max. Days where I questioned why I was there.
the right attitude, loved the people around me and gave away life that I could
leave Korea with a peace in my heart. So I stubbornly chose a good attitude
many days, dug into relationships and let the Holy Spirit guide me into the
deeper things going on.
culmination of many years of growth. An opportunity to walk in the maturity
and live out the lessons he had written on my heart. So God, out of His
goodness, took my willingness and birthed something beautiful out of my year
there.
with some amazing friendships formed. I left with a lifetime of joyful
memories. Most importantly, I left empty. I gave away all that I could in the
relationships I had there.

I challenge you, no matter where youre at in life, to
choose a good attitude, lean into what Gods doing and give away all you have
for others. Thats a life with no regrets.
