So where do I start? We’ll first off I am completely overwhelmed by everything that has been happening over the past few weeks. You ever feel like you are stuck behind a brick wall & suddenly God comes with a gigantic hammer to knock that wall down? Man how great is our God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok sorry, I had to take a praise break, back to the story now!
So this time of fundraising money for the race has been so stressful for me, which I didn’t think it would be this hard in the beginning. It’s even more difficult when you feel like you are all alone & only a few people outside your church family are actually supporting. I’ve never done fundraising except for selling cookies & fruit in elementary, which I’m sure was just my mom calling people on the phone demanding they order from me.
Since I’ve been accepted to the race I haven’t felt the support from my family, except for my little sister who is more excited than I am, that I would like. It has been really eating at me since the beginning but that is where God stepped in & sent angels to the rescue.
Since being apart of crossfit, I have always felt a since of community. It’s more than just working out, it’s more of fellowship & growing together. The bonds you build are bonds that will last a lifetime. In my box (crossfit lingo for gym), my bonds & love for others have grown even stronger since my acceptance to the world race. The uplift I have received from everyone that comes in & out of the box daily is nothing short of extraordinary. My biggest supporters through this time are all members of Crossfit Thelo & I love them like family.
Just this past weekend, I received a call from my box owner telling me that next month we will be holding a fundraiser competition to raise funds for the race & every single dime will go to me!! Whatttttt!!!!!! Just the short time since then, there have been so many people who have committed to being apart of the fundraiser & I can’t even tell you how grateful I am. Honestly, I can’t believe so many people care enough, most I don’t even know, to take time out of their busy schedules to come support me. I can’t believe that someone cares enough to actually make all this happen for me!
I’ve learned that even when you are not getting support where you want it, God will send it exactly where you need it. So to my Crossfit friends & family, you all are a huge blessing in my life & you are greatly appreciated.
