one week ago (and every day since..) we were blown away by how awesome our God is! Last Monday we had raised $6,409 to date, we were on track to reach our goal of $7,000 by September 27th. One month to raise $591 seemed feasible.
I (Codie) have dealt with some discouragement lately. We are 3 months into this journey already, so looking back and remembering that phone call of confirmation that we were accepted isn’t as easy as it once was. It is 3 months behind us. We are 4 months away from launch – and a LOT can happen in 4 months, so if you look ahead it can seem discouraging, and far. We are stuck in the middle, and need daily confirmation that this is God’s path for us, the constant reminder that we are pursuing this because HE told us to.
Last Monday we received so much more.
We posted a status on Facebook about needing $591 and asking if anyone was willing to donate, that any amount would help. Almost immediately we received a donation, for not just some, but ALL of what we needed to meet our goal. How crazy! Sometimes it’s hard to accept things like that…It’s like God said “oh, you want confirmation? How about I meet your goal, a MONTH early?!?” We were so excited!
then .. just wait .. there’s more
when people donate online, we don’t see that in our account for 2-5 days. Sometimes it takes longer depending on if it is before a weekend, etc. I check the account religiously every single day at 5:00 to see if we have any more donations in the account. Last Monday I didn’t get to check until later because we had a meeting after work before Bible study, so I checked it when we got home. I was already on a high because we had met our goal, and THEN I checked our account and $400 worth of donations had been put in that day from the weekend.

$1,000! (ok, I rounded 🙂 in ONE single day. ONE day. God not only met our goal, he blew it out of the water. We were already starting on our next goal, with a BIG head start, and a whole MONTH early!

We are constantly blown away by how much God provides, and how faithful all of YOU are how are helping us see that, and send us on this trip. When you see that progress bar at the top of our blog showing our funding status, be proud, because you are making it move. God is using your gifts to further his kingdom. We are just the hands and feet that get to go spread that all over the world.
