This month has gone fast, faster than fast. It seems like we just got here and now we are heading out; another travel day. We were told some interesting news that we might end up having the next two teams come stay with us for one day before we leave. Interesting…and I didn’t think any more of it.
I woke up and opened the door and, lo and behold, the downstairs has a dozen people or so! Two teams from L Squad arrived after I went to bed. Team Shekinah & Shiloh. Some of us showed them the ropes, told them where the best places to eat were, told them where the ATM to use were. We talked about our races and how they are going. We talked about how Becca and I still have nearly $4,000 to support raise but God will provide. We talked, and talked, and talked; in fact some of us were up until 4 am talking and praying and worshiping together. What an amazing time.
Our two teams learned a great deal from their two teams. A thought came to me, “Why does AIM not do this once or twice on a race?” You could have it be twice on your race that you get to spend two days or so with another team from another squad. Think of the things that we could teach each other! What we have lived through on the race, what we have cried through on the race, what God has shown us on the race! That would be AWESOME! It would obviously not work for some contacts to host that many teams at once, but for us it did work and God was glorified immensely that night.
It was just one night, how I wish it were two. I dream of what could be gained by each other, and what God would teach us.
I will, of course, forward my thoughts up the chain to the uppers.
