Manzini is actually far cry from the “Big City,” but it is a welcomed break from rural Nsoko. I spent a few days there this past weekend in order to catch up on all things internet, as well as capture some footage of another ministry taking place.
The Discipleship Team–or “D-Team”–consists of six Swazi nationals that work under AIM and Children’s HopeChest to minister to the Care Points in and around Manzini. There are currently nine that they are working with to foster discipleship relationships with the children there.
I spent some time talking with the leader of the team, Musa (far left), and getting some more information for a short video I’m working on of them. I was even able to go out to two different Care Points with them. These Care Points have been operating for a longer period of time than the ones in Nsoko, and as a result, are more developed. They are also sponsored by individual churches. You can see in the photos the items the church has donated or helped fund. It was kind of neat to see what potential for growth there is in Nsoko.
