It seems that each time I enter a new country I have this doe-eyed look. I know little about the area besides what I’ve heard from other people, and there’s this eagerness to absorb everything I can in a short amount of time. It is the same here in Ireland. It’s not only gorgeous, but filled with historic nuggets and tidbits.

Our plane left Atlanta late, which caused us to hit Frankfurt behind schedule. This meant we were personally escorted to our next flight–pretty sweet hook-up. Problem, though. Not all of our bags made it, so we arrived in Dublin six bags lighter. Not a huge deal. They were on the next flight out of Frankfurt, and were promised to us that evening–delivered to our door. This ended up being quite the blessing since we ended up having to do a lot of walking and carting around our other bags was tough enough.

We had a few things to take care of before leaving the airport–bus transportation and arrangements to be picked up by the couple housing us. Unfortunately, we had a cell phone that was completely dead. Another blessing in disguise. We were forced to sit at Starbucks while our phone got a little charge.

We found our way over to the main bus station in Dublin and waited for our bus to Wexford to arrive. Unfortunately, after an hour or so, it broke down almost 45 km from our destination. It had started to get warmer in the back, where we were sitting, and then all of a sudden, “POOF!” Some belt or another snapped, and sent smoke billowing through the floor right under our feet. It was rather exciting. So we all got off the bus and hung out on the side of the road for quite a while–much to the dismay of the local cattle.

Finally around 8:30 pm (GMT) we arrived in Wexford, and were greeted by the sweetest little couple. Thos and his wife are putting us up in their flat for the next three weeks. The bottom floor serves as his dental practice, while the other three floors were vacant. We have our own beds, a kitchen, and a common room to hang out in. It is a huge blessing! We ended our evening with some local fish & chips. Welcome to Ireland!

Thank you for all of the prayers. We made it safe and sound and are ready to do what the Lord has brought us here for.
