We have to keep telling ourselves that we're home. We're waiting for that moment when we wake up and realize that we're still in Africa or Asia or Europe. We're waiting for that moment when Becky tells us that it's team time or our contacts rush us out the door to evangelize for 8 hours straight. We're wondering when we'll wake up beside our 6 other teammates or give them feedback or join the squad in worship.
But we're home, so we don't get the chance to do that anymore.
If you were to ask us how our year was, it would be difficult to explain. It's kind of like asking you, "Hey, how was the past year of YOUR life?" It's not really a question we can answer with a few short words. If we really had to, we'd say something like:
"It was the best and the worst year of our lives."
"It was the shortest and the longest year."
"It was both overwhelming exciting and overwhelming horrible."
"We couldn't wait to come home but we didn't want to leave."
"Strangers became family."
"God molded us in ours that we could have never imagined."
"We are forever changed."
We feel good about being home and anticipate all the things that God is going to use us to do now that we're back. We can't wait to serve Him where ever we go!
If you REALLY want to see a glimpse of what our past year was like, watch this 10 minute video that our squad leaders made. That's how we'll explain it to you.
Enjoy!
