Driving to our first destination from the airport was incredibly heartbreaking. To see the way people live in India brought me much brokenness to my heart. As we were driving past some of the villages on our 9-hour bus ride, tears steamed down my face with an urgency to pray reverently for the Indian people. Our team of 6 has had the opportunity to minister to a boys’ home and God has began to gently touch my heart through these children. It makes perfect sense, though, because Matthew 18 talks of the disciples asking Jesus who the greatest is in the Kingdom and Jesus replies, “Truly I say to you, unless you become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
He is using children to cut to my heart! There are 10 boys in this home, and all of them know Jesus. It is incredible! When they pray, they pray BOLDLY! When we ask them to pray, you better have a couple of minutes because they pray deeply and maturely, and they’re young—4-14. My back has been thrown out ever since we started this trip and the Holy Spirit put it on my hart to get all these boys to pray over me. When they got down, I was relieved of pain. It’s not completely healed, but God is continuing to use my back for me to rely on Him. It’s been such a blessing working with these children, and we’ve only been here for 4 days! My “favorite” is 12-years-old and is incredibly passionate for Jesus. He knows a lot of English, so it’s been easier to communicate with him and encourage him to lead well the other kids. It is such a privilege to be able to be apart of what God is doing here at the home. I know deep down that these boys are going to be warriors for Jesus and change “normal” in their village for the Kingdome and bring light to the darkness here.
Read Psalm 42:1-3, Psalm 107:9 and Matthew 5:6.
I have been satisfied!! So satisfied. My encouragement for you is to join me in my hungering after righteousness (God) and let Him not only satisfy your soul, but your life.
