This past Sunday I had an amazing opportunity to preach to a church here in India.  Most of the time when there is a need for someone to preach, I usually am very hesitant because I feel I need to perform and because of this I pass up many opportunities.  Not this time!  I was excited and jumped on the opportunity.  The Gospel needs to be proclaimed and I had a desire to share!  I felt the Holy Spirit stirring in me and I was obedient.  I preached the Gospel and after I was done, I heard the quiet whisper telling me “you said exactly what I wanted you to say”. With tears coming to my eyes, you don’t understand the freedom that comes with this!  I have been trapped in lies that I need to perform and make everyone happy on Sunday mornings, that the way I communicate has the bearing on people’s transformation, when deep down I understand that the work of the Holy Spirit does this, but I tend to put the weight on myself.  This message was so freeing!  I spoke on the love of God and the Cost of this love.  I shared that we can’t understand the love of God until we understand the cost of His love, that we can’t understand the Love of God until we try to wrap our minds around the Wrath of God that He took upon Himself on the cross in our place.  I encourage you to read Luke 22:39-46 and wrestle with the agony Jesus went through of JUST THE THOUGHT of the wrath of God being poured out on Him.  This month here in India has really humbled me in many ways.  He is showing me what it means to be a humble servant.  It’s been hard, but watching my life become a little more and more like Jesus’ it makes it all worth it.  Please pray for our new ministry as we head to Nepal in a couple days, that our desire for God would continue to be strong and that the Holy Spirit would move in Power and that people would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!
