1. Thailand is beautiful. Like really beautiful.
2. Many of the people on Bangla Road think that they are just there to have a good time. They think that because they are not buying women, they are not doing any damage. They could not be more wrong.
3. Boys are sometimes stinky and sometimes difficult to understand but a month apart will really teach you to appreciate them.
4. Let God talk to you spirit. Let God tell you the things that need to change. Let him shape your heart. It hurts and it's not fun; but, it worth it. Sometimes I still wonder how it's good but I know that it is.
5. If last year at this time someone would have told me that I would prepare for the World Race with a steady job, paid of car, zero debt, awesome boyfriend, family close by, church in English and comforts I didn't know I took for granted but I would soon lose all of it, I would not have come. However, standing at the end of month 6, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
6. Confide in people you know to be trustworthy, even if you don't know them well. It will be worth it. (Thank you to all my girls in Phuket who shared in my many tears.)
7. I hate crying. It's messy and gross and, often, it doesn't make me feel better.
8. Grieve. When things happen that suck, grieve. Tell God how you feel and let him heal your heart.
9. Thai people are so incredibly friendly and I really loved spending time with them in this country.
10. If you get a chance to go to Thailand, you should come to SHE for a time. Mark and Sharon have followed God into an awesome ministry. And Amanda is a riot. Monica is one of the sweetest, most genuine people I have had the pleasure of knowing. You will not regret your time here.
11. Asian mass travel rocks. Bus with food and drink service, massage chairs, tvs, and blankets. Absolutely amazing.
