On Thursdays we have been given the opportunity to go to a ministry called Infa which houses girls that have been taken off the streets because they are a danger to themselves and others. I had been prepared to sing worship songs, listen to testimonies from Sidney Ann, Ellie, and Kenzie. I had been prepared to make beaded bracelets and paint with chalk on the sidewalks. I had been prepared for painting fingernails and braiding hair. I had been prepared for them to be a little rough around the edges. I had been prepared for limited communication do to a language barrier. I had NOT been prepared for how young these girls were. I had been prepared for teenagers. Most of these girls were children. They were little girls. They were girls that had been given a rough life. They were girls that had lived the worst that life had to offer. On the streets there is no hope. On the streets there is no safety. On the streets there is only danger and fear and hatred. We stood at Infa surrounding these girls with as much love as we contain. All around them was hope and joy and peace overflowing from our hearts and souls. Hope and joy and peace given to us from God almighty. We were giving them all that we had and there was nothing that they could do to loose our love and our pride and our delight.
The Father's love is the origin of our love and hope and joy and peace. He looks on us just the same. We have been brought into the Father's safe place from the worst of situations. Without God, there is only danger and fear and despair. He looks on us with love and joy. In us, he delights beyond words. We are undeserving but God looks beyond our severe lack of worthiness. Through Him, we find safety and warmth and joy. He is the peace giver. He is our Savior bringing us to a place full of his light and grace.
