V13 "lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
How much easier would our lives be if we prayed for the strength to avoid evil? What if we didn't even give the devil a chance to tempt us all? Not only would our lives considerably easier but we could open our hearts and time to be used in so many ways.
Psalm 119: 9-11 tells us that we keep our ways pure by guarding them according to the Word. With our whole hearts, we must seek God. By not wandering from the commandments and keeping g the Lord's Word in your heart, you can be kept from sin. In Matthew 4: 1-11, Jesus is tempted. He counters each of the Devil's advances with Scripture choosing to walk in God's Word rather than be distracted by the world and what it can order. God does not desert us in our temptation. Each and every time, there is provided a way out (1 Corinthians 10: 12-13).
Do not despair. You are never lost in your temptation; God does not resign you to the evil one. God is faithful. He will never leave you alone. Trust in his Word and his promises.
