I filled out envelopes today.  I wrote addresses down to over 40 churches.  I know that God is with them-working in their hearts, prompting them to contribute to my mission.  HIS MISSION.  The money scares me more than I care to admit.  I read encouragement from the Bible and from the blogs of other racers.  But money rules the world.  No!  MY GOD RULES THE WORLD!! I know my God is great than the money.  He is greater than any obstacle I can fathom.

Sometimes I wonder why God doesn't instantly fund each person who commits.  Why doesn't he show his power by providing each racer with $15,500 before they ever imagined it was possible?  But that's not what we need.  I know that because God is only capable to doing what is good.  He works for his glory and whatever he chooses is for his glory.

SO Why do we pray to make ourselves independent from God?  If God provided it all up front, then it would be increasingly difficult to keep him at the forefront of our thoughts.  If we must rely on him everyday to meet our deadlines, to provide our housing, to feed our stomachs and our souls, then he is ever closer to the front of our thoughts.

It is so easy to forget that we need God in our comfortanble lives where everything is provided for us.  Perhaps we are more easily reminded of our spiritual need when our physical need is apparent.

We can do nothing without him and all things through him.

MY GOD RULES THE WORLD!!!!
