From the winterland of ice and snow, a plane took us to the next season: spring, where the sun burns down, flowers and fruits decorate the trees and even the locals have to wipe sweat off their brow occasionally. We were welcomed to the beautiful country of Malaysia… At the bus station we enjoyed some local fruit and walked around the Malaysian street market, enjoying the hot weather and the friendly people’s smiles!
We decided to spend a few days on Penang Island in the time we have before meeting our fellow World Racers again. So we were travelling again! A train ride through the night took us to our paradise island. Together with the Lime Team we enjoyed God’s creation and praised Him for His beauty. The lukewarm turquoise water felt like heaven as we swam in the palm surrounded seas. The evening we made a fire on the beach and enjoyed a truly South African braai, except for braaiing potatoes instead of steaks…
It was truly a blessing to see and enjoy a glimpse of the island life, just relaxed and friendly. Most part of the late morning the people would take a siesta, sleeping through the warmest part of the day. In the night the island comes alive with colourful markets, joyous restaurants and food vendors on the street.
