We have been working north of Phuket where we helped with putting up a water tower at an orphanage that is currently being build with the hope of opening up in 2 weeks’ time! They will house about 25 children between the ages of 2 months and 10 years old. (Just for clarities sake, I wondered this… it is not Tsunami orphans, unfortunately it is children that are being dropped off at the hospital by young girls or prostitutes.
We were immediately accepted by the Thai people that have been living and working the project since it began, we would go to the beach together and afterwards “bath” together…
Our bossman, Kitty, did a great job in instructing us with what he wanted us to do and in this short time we became close, he is such a happy guy, always working hard, but knowing exactly what to do and when, where and how.
We would eat together (chilly, chilly and more chilly) and work together!!
The work was definitely not cleaning house and laying out the table. It was hard, physical labour (especially for the ladies), but God really gave them the strength to endure and they did more than what they thought they were capable of. YOU GUYS WERE AWESOME!! It is so awesome just to serve, to help where it is needed.
