This past Friday our team came up with our official new team name. with 3 votes in favor of akhunamatata, it was put 2nd to the 5 votes that made our team’s new name COOL RUNNINGS!! Which if you didn’t know means “peace be the journey”.
So on Saturday, Cheyanne decided that the best way to celebrate our new team name and hang out with each other was to go get ice cream. We all nodded our heads as we drooled at the idea of some delicious cool ice cream covered in sprinkles and syrup.
Right after dinner we made our way to the mall which is about 20 minutes walking distance here in Cambodia and walked straight into Swensen’s. We all sat down and acted like little children ad we decided what flavor and what toppings we wanted to treat ourselves to. I got something with chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate with a coke float on the side. (that stomach ache was totally worth it).
Cheyanne then asked us the question, “what is one of your favorite childhood memories?” we all went around and laughed about childhoods over a yummy bowl/cone of ice cream.
I said that one of my favorite memories when my dad, sister and I would ride our bikes to the park when I was about 4 or 5. My dad would get one of those Styrofoam airplanes that you have to put together yourself. I would watch my dad throw through the air for what seemed like hours but was probably only 30 minutes. We would usually stop when it got caught too high in a tree for dad to get.
It was a fun night of memories, ice cream, and laughter. So think about some of your favorite childhood memories and share them with me. I can bet that it will put a smile on your face.
