My adventure Begins in 8 months. I will traveling to 11 countries in 11 months, serving and living with the people in the community. The great thing about this, is that I wont be going on the journey alone. I will be going with about 56 other people and then breaking it down into smaller groups of 7 to 8 people. We will be traveling together in small groups and doing work for the kingdom.
As my trip gets closer and closer, more and more people are being added to our World Race September 2012 route 1 Facebook group. Slowly but surely we are getting to know each other and to an extent, getting to know some personalities. In July we will officially meet each other in person for training before we deploy.
I feel like this is really opposite of how meeting people usually work. Usually you meet a person in person and get to know them a little bit, then when you get home you request them to be your friend on Facebook or they request you. and after that, you like a few of their comments here and there and see them when you see them. In our case, for the 56ish of us, we are so eager to no longer just comment and Facebook chat with each other, creeping through each other’s pictures just isn’t enough. We so desperately want to meet each other, give high fives, hand shakes, side hugs and even real hugs every so often. We are longing to live with each other, be in community, serve and love together, disagree with each other, get tired of one another and through all of this continue to love one another as Jesus would.
We are all at the starting line, on our toes and ready to take off when the gun goes off. September cant get here soon enough.
