“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of Heaven and Earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.” Acts 17:24-25

After leaving Corinth and seeing the exact place where Paul preached to the Corinthians, we came together as a team to figure out what we were going to do to get to Athens. We had a choice, either depart on a four o’clock train and find a place to stay in Athens for two nights, or to stay in Corinth and then go to Athens early in the morning. We decided to go to Athens on the four o’clock train.

We got together as a team and prayed that our God of Gods would direct us in everything that we did. We prayed that He would lay the paths and we would be directed by His voice. We had three choices, go to a camp ground, go to a hostel, or go by the Spirit and find a place to stay for free. We chose to follow the Spirit.

Chad had a feeling that the Lord wanted us to go to an Evangelical church that was on a map that Casey had. The rest of the team confirmed and we were on our way. We jumped on the red line subway and hit the streets right below Acropolis (a theatre and place of worship to the Greek gods.) We saw that we were right around the corner from the church, Praise the Lord.

When we arrived at the church, the doors were open and we knew the Lord was present. Sarah and Chad dropped their bags and entered while Casey and Cathy waited outside. As soon as we went in we saw 1st Timothy 6:12 posted on the wall saying “Run the good race of Faith”, we knew we were where the Lord wanted us. Suddenly a man by the name of Thomas came up like an Angel from the bottom story. Chad and Sarah engaged in conversation with him while Cathy & Casey prayed, we found out that he was the watch keeper of the church and that they were about to have a service in forty-five minutes.

We found out that Thomas was a great man of faith and that he was just praying that someone would come to pray for him. Praise the Lord. We took hold of the opportunity to lay hands on Thomas & pray for the needs that he expressed. It was a blessing to be a part of what the Lord was doing because we could feel that this was the exact reason that the Lord led us to this church. Wow. We were all in awe.

As church started the assistant pastor asked Chad to get up and give a short introduction of who we were and what we were doing. Again, we were in awe because thirty minutes before this we had no idea where the Lord was leading us and now we were in front of a church praising Jesus Christ.

After the church service, the assistant pastor (Anthony) came up to us all and said that after talking to some of the elders of the church, it would be alright if we stayed for the night. Anthony said that Thomas would show us where we could sleep and everything else that we needed to know.

Thomas was the most amazing man that we have met. We feel that he was an Angel sent from the Heavens above because what he would do for us brought tears to our eyes. He asked us our needs and told us to accompany him to the top floor. We climbed four stories up and came into the most amazing sight a missionary could ever imagine. A beautiful studio penthouse suite with a kitchen, air conditioning, a coffee maker, and plenty of room for us to sleep. When we looked out the windows we practically all jumped out of our skin. On one side was the Acropolis and on the other was Olympic Zeus’ Temple & Hadrian’s Arch.

Thomas then began to spoil us more by giving us the keys to the entire church and telling us that we could sleep both nights at no cost to us. We jumped around like little kids because we knew that the Lord was looking down on us at that very moment and we where in His presence.

We praise the God of Gods. Lord we ask that you shower Thomas with your goodness and cover him with your protection. We ask that your Spirit falls on this church and you expand their borders. We thank you for your Mercy your Grace and your direction.

God Bless to all from Athens Greece.
