In our minds we all new that the brown team had a couple hour jump on us but we were not at all discouraged. We pushed forward with optimism and joy.

As the sun was soon to set we saw a sign for the Guatemala boarder. We made it safely across when we where told that we had to get our passports stamped before we could actually enter the country. We found out that we had to get our passports stamped at the Mexican customs office before we could enter. That meant getting back in our car and going back to the town that was about 15 minutes away.
We got to the Mexican customs office when we found out that the Guatemalan office had kept a crucial part of Sarah´s paper work that was needed to stamp her passport. After a long talk from Meagan, a new teammate for this leg, the officer stamped it reluctantly. Then we found out that Lloyd didn´t have the proper paper work that he needed which could only be found at the US and Mexico boarder. This was a serious problem and the officer would not stamp his passport.
We all decided through prayer to go back to the Guatemalan border. As we walked up we were all in deep prayer because the only way we were getting across was if the Lord helped us out. That is exactly what happened and because of the grace of God we were all allowed to proceed. Thank you Jesus!!
It was now dark and we where in a very trecherous mountainous area. It was time to think about what we where going to do for lodging. Sarah then began reading from her daily devotional, 1st Corinthians 9:16. That will come into play later.
As we drove through a town Lloyd said that he saw a car with Jesus written all over it and Kim said that she saw a hotel right across the street. We all decided to turn the car around and see if that was where God was trying to take us.
When we arrived, the hotel actually had a church that was right above it and there was a bus that had the name JESUS written on the side right across the street. We talked to the person in the hotel, told her our situation and that we only had 50 Quetzales (about $7.50). We had Pesos, Dollars & credit but they wouldn´t accept any of them.
Chad and Lloyd then had a feeling to go across the street to where the bus was. They entered and talked to a boy that was in the house. He went to get his father as the rest of the team entered the fenced area. We then all looked up at the bus that was covered in the name of JESUS and saw that on the back door of the bus was 1st Corinthians 9:16 in very large print, the exact scripture that Sarah had read about an hour before. We were all blown away by God´s Creativeness and knew that this was where we were going to be staying.

It turned out that the man who owned the house was a very big Christian and welcomed us with open arms. He had a vacant guest house on his property with a bathroom and a HOT shower. God is so faithful and awesome and this family was truly a blessing to all of our lives. We left at 6:00am in the morning.
