Oh where oh where is our Plymouth Grand Voyager!!!

On Monday we had the opportunity to go to Brownsville, Texas to find our method of transportation to Palenque. Knowing whatever car we chose had to fit 7 people, lots of luggage, and had to make it from Matamoros to Palenque, From Palenque to Guatemala, From Guatemala to Los Angeles. We were looking for a diamond in the rough!!! Go TEAM TRINTY!!!

After going to a few dealerships, we decided we were not looking in the right place! We went back to the airport where Kim and Tauna had made some friends. Maybe they had the answer. One lady told us to go to Southmost Road. We listened hoping for the best. WE saw a little church and thought we should check if they had any ideas. She ALSO told us to go to Southmost Road. By now, we knew our van would be on Southmost Road. While driving on…you guessed it…Southmost Road we saw a van for sale in front of Ortega’s convenience store. WE looked at it…not too impressed…but still feeling good about it we asked for the owner. A man named Victor owned the van and the store. He was so nice and informative. We prayed with him and he wanted to show us his “prayer spot” behind the convenience store. While walking back there, he picked some fruit from his trees and gave us oranges and lemons. We were admiring his yard and noticed a red mini van by the house. We were so excited when he told us that it was for sale!! Kim, Tauna, and Sarah checked out the van and really felt good about it. We knew that God led us here.

Ali and Chad came back from looking for other vans as Tauna drove the van up to the front of the convenience store. It was just about time to get back to Matamoros. We decided we would give it some more thought and prayer. The following days we ALL felt Victor and the van on our hearts.

On Wednesday, we got to go back to Brownsville. After stopping at the cargo airport…one more option. We decided to go back to Victor’s. When he saw us, he asked us if we had the keys. Come to find out Tauna had accidentally placed the keys in her purse on Monday. It actually worked out because someone came to look at the van after us and wanted to buy it, but there were no KEYS. So…we did have to pay $80.00 for the re-keying of the van, but we got the van!!! After negotiating the price, we got the newly keyed van for $1300.00.

Once again…we ran out of time!!! We still had to get an oil change, tire rotation,
registration, and tags. We decided we would head back to Matamoros with the title and bill of sale, leave the car, and go back on Thursday!

Chad and Tauna went back today, Thursday, and finished everything…by the grace of God. They returned to the camp FIRST!!! We won the first race!! Knowing this is only the first task of our crazy adventure pumps all of us up. WE ARE READY!!!
