It’s FRIDAY, and you know what that means–Photo Friday!

This weeks featured photographer is:

I actually first met Ester while working at a photography store in Austin, Tx before I left for the World Race.  We had a few conversations about the places she’s been and her adventures.  When I mentioned that I was going on the race and would hit some of the same countries, she gave me the best advice I’ve received as a photographer.  She said as a photographer it’s easy to see a poor dirty child and see only a great picture.  But she encouraged me to remember that they are people, with stories that need to be told, and the only way you hear those stories is if you set your camera down and get to know the people in the image.  There were times on the race that I found myself hiding behind my camera and missed out on some ministry opportunities, but Ester’s advice would come back to me and I would set down my camera.  It was in those times I heard the hearts of people like Ed and Susan, and Wally Baba.  So thanks Ester for being the first to help me see that photography is about the story behind the photograph.
