The earthquake devastated Haitian way of life. Structurally
everything is demolished, physically, people are dying, and spiritually, the
battle rages.  The very foundation
of which this culture was built has proven weak and susceptible. It’s hard to
see any prospect of a better future in the midst of all the destruction.

But as I prayed for Haiti yesterday I received a
vision.

I saw a huge God-size rake, and it was raking over the
Haitian ground, preparing the soil for something new.  Like gathering decomposing leaves after a  colorful fall, I
saw the rake collect the destruction, the rubble and shattered lives of this
earthquake.  Beneath all the layers
of devastation was fresh, fertile soil that just needed to be uncovered. I felt
like God was saying he was preparing the land in order to lay a new,
different foundation for Haiti, one firmly rooted in Him.  As I continued to pray I saw new
buildings erected that were stronger and could withstand even more powerful attacks
from the enemy, and we, the church, are God’s hands for doing all this.  Through our prayers, support, and
on-the-ground teams, God is laying this new foundation, getting ready to rebuild.

God is an opportunist.
Although this tragedy breaks his heart and he too cries for this nation,
he also has a plan.  Haiti has long
been imprisoned by the darkness of witchcraft, voodoo and slavery.  I think the time has come He is
reclaiming Haiti.  I don’t believe
this earthquake is from God, but I know he wants to use it to glorify his name
and bring his Kingdom.
