Dear all who supported me,
I should’ve written this a long
time ago when I was back in the states in my own handwriting and made them
individual. Cause you know I am a totally responsible grown up woman and I
definitely was not reminded to write these thank you cards everyday by my mom
for the short week I was in Atlanta. I also was not given a super easy packet
by her full of empty envelopes with stamps and your addresses because I wasn’t!
OK I may have received a similar packet by a Mrs. Duhi Schneider oh, and I also
was never reminded by my teammate Christi while I was in Los Angeles! Never!
You see there was an emergency where I…. um….
had to do something very important! I obviously have no good excuses for
you all. I thought I could think of one because I told my mom and Christi quite
a few. My favorite was don’t worry I’ll write them waiting for the plane at
LAX. Riiiigggggghhhhttt. That evidently
happened cause you guys all got my really sweet and thoughtful letters a week
ago. You didn’t?! It’s the postal services fault not mine.
I would
like to thank all of you first off for your patience with me to get back to
you. I haven’t even e-mailed my parents
yet! I am alive and well I promise! Most importantly I want to thank you
personally for your gracious donations you do not know the power of your
contributions. With the money you gave
up you have changed one life (mine) and hundreds more. YOU have. You have enabled me to go on this year long
trip, given me the courage to do it , and fed, clothed, and cured many
individual and unique people. I was amazed at the size and the speed at which
the donations came. I checked the balance one day and the next it was
overflowing. I thought man now I really
have to go! Haha. There is no way out the support is here! It’s in!
So, I am here on the World Race in
Mindanao, Philippines surrounded by beautiful mountains and stretching my back
after shoveling wet cement. P.s. I love shoveling cement that is said with no
sarcasm its like throwing on a wheel in ceramics it kind of clears my
head. We are helping build a living
facility for orphaned children and it is so much fun even though I wish we
could wear those fashionable cute yellow hard hats the Village People made soooo
popular!
Thank you again each and every one
of you have supported me on this trip. It is hard to thank you in words because
what is being done is bigger than that and you started it off and are getting
me through it!
THANK
YOUZZZZZ!!!!!!!
Heartz,
Shiloh
