After a 4 hour train ride, another 36 hour train ride, a 2 hour bus ride, a 3 hour flight, and 30 minute taxi ride, we finally arrived at a hotel in Bangkok at about 2am (Thai Time, which is exactly 12 hours ahead of all my central time zone buddies).

It took 15 people a long time of to find the cheapest hotel, while bargaining a 3 night stay to $13 a night, and getting a free canal tour thrown in as well.  We were thinking there is now way our hotel could be nice, but much to our delight we were suprised!  I couldn’t believe my eyes to see a swimming pool, a room that I could walk around in barefoot, and a bathtub!  Not only that but we got free continental breakfast!  What a blessing!

Our 3 days in Thailand were spent well enjoying the cheap luxuries.  5 American restaurants, 3 bowling games, 2 Thai massages, 2 Dairy Queen Blizzards, 2 dips in the pool, 1 movie in English, and 1 pedicure later, I thought I might have been raptured.  It was nice to feel like we were in America again without the American prices.  God blessed us with an amazing break time for such a cheap price.

Yesterday I got some disturbing news about our brothers we left working in China.  Please pray for them because since we have left Satan has had some major attacks.  A teacher in the town where the Latin American guys live, is trying to get them kicked out because he suspects he knows what they are doing.  Lately the guys haven’t been able to get into restaurants they used to, and Noel (as you recall the guy with our group) had his life threatened as 3 Muslims tried to attack him in the shower of a bath house.  Praise God the door remained locked and the guys ran off.  Please pray for these guys as I’m sure Satan is angry with all we stirred up in China!  Good thing the victory is already God’s!

Last night we got on a bus to Trang in the southern region of Thailand.  12 hours and a little sleep on the bus floor got us here.  We arrived at 5am and got ourselves to the train station where we have been taking luggage watching shifts.  The South African Teams will meet up with us soon, as their around the world ticket took them through Malaysia.

After they arrive we will be heading over to an island where we will spend about a week or so in ministry.  The island is mostly Muslim and we hope to maybe put together a kids’ games day, which I am really excited about.  Right now, however. I don’t know much about what we are doing except sleep in tents one street from the beach; it’s gonna be a hot one!  I don’t know when we will see interent again, but as soon as we do I’ll hook you up with the down low.  Until then…peace out foos!
