We are back in Poza Rica again today. We came back this direction to take a day to visit the Mayan ruins at El Tajin and run to the city to get anything done before we leave this area. Tomorrow we will drive to Tabasco, spend the night, and then leave the next day for Palenque (our debrief site).
The past few days have been so much fun. Sunday we played volleyball for about two and a half hours! The Mexicans were calling me a ¨professional´because somehow my testimony got lost in translation, and they thought I gave up playing professional volleyball to come travel the world and share the gospel. I have no idea how that happened! Let´s just say I had a lot to live up to during the game!
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday it was pretty rainy, which resulted in very muddy roads. We were still able to make it over to the church planting villages in the afternoon for the services. We were not sure if we would be able to have it on Monday since it was raining and there was no covering. We drove over to the house where the church will be, and the man that lived there had hung a huge tarp so that we could worship! There were more people there that night than ever and each night after more and more showed up.
Last night we had a fiesta worship service. There was a real band with a keyboard and drums. I felt like I was at a rock concert. The louder the music the better here! It was incredible that God has given us the blessing of being able to see some of the fruits of our work. At some point this week, every person that we ministered to had shown up at the evening services. I could feel the presence of God in that place and am excited to hear about how much the church will continue to grow in the future. God has truly blessed my heart with these people, and I am going to be so sad to leave them tomorrow!
