As we hoped off the train in Amsterdam (where God had led us I may add) we didnt have a place to sleep. We had tried via the internet to find hostels and hotels but to no availeverything was booked or extremely expensive. Our leader has friends that live 2 hours outside of Amsterdam, but we knew God wanted us to spend some time in the city of Amsterdam before visiting them.

We had previously received an email from a World Race follower. When she saw in our blogs we were going to be in Amsterdam she told us of a Christian Youth Hostel that she worked for called The Shelter Jordan. We went on their website but found they were booked. "Ok, God" we said as we got off the train. "You called us to Amsterdam but we dont have a place to stay; we totally trust you Lord because we are following You".

In the train station we decided to call The Shelter Jordan just to see one more time if they had any availability for the night. A young man answered the phone and said "yesI do have two beds open, but just for tonight!" Hallelujah! God you amaze me every time!

When we walked in the doors of the hostel, I immediately was filled with peace. You could just feel the presence of God filling the hostel. We have been living in many hostels the past few weeks and this was the first one that had worship music filling the air, bible studies to attend, and homemade hot meals! We had French toast for breakfast! They have quite the ministry there! I recommend that if you are ever in Amsterdam to check out the Shelter Jordan for a reasonable and warming hostel.

After our wonderful sleep at the Shelter Jordan we boarded another train for Gorchem, Holland outside of Amsterdam. We were greeted by some friends Linda and Johan whom C met in Israel. Again, we felt the presence of God filled through their home. Linda made us delicious meals including homemade peanut saucemy favorite. Linda and Johan had a couple visiting them too from the states. We had a wonderful time visiting them as well. God definitely brought us there because their visiting friends work for Wives of Warriors. It is an organization specializing in supporting wives who have husbands serving overseas. Wowhow convenient being that my husband is in Iraq. I was able to exchange emails and receive some encouraging words from them.

As we slipped into bed we about melted into the soft sheets and fluffy mattress. We felt like we were in heaven after sleeping on hard mattresses with our sleeping bags. God was truly leading us to Holy Places.
