Hi Everyone!
So, we are here safe and sound in Hong Kong, China! We left Wednesday morning at 11:30am from Los Angeles and took a 15 hour non-stop flight to Hong Kong arriving at 7:00pm Thursday evening. That was crazy because we lost a whole day of our life…haha.
For those of you who are interested, I am now 13 hours ahead of NYC and 5 hours ahead of Iraq time. So when you are sleeping I am up! Hong Kong looks like a huge Times Square. For the next few days we will be staying in a Hostel here in Hong Kong for about $7 a night. We are sleeping in rooms with people we don’t know so that is a bit strange, but I guess that is part of the experience.
Today we met the missionary we will be working with and applied for our visas. My blogs and emails in China I may not be using people’s names or using their made up name that live here due to the extreme persecution that exsists here in China against Christians. So please understand that there may not be too much detail on what we will be doing for their safety. Keep us in prayer as we go to unreached people groups to show the love of Christ.
We will be staying in Hong Kong for a few days and then we leave on Sunday evening on a 36 hour train ride through the Himalayan Mountains to the borders of Tibet. Most of our ministry in those areas will be done between the hours of 12 midnight to 5:00am since it is illegal to be a Christian and speak about Jesus in these areas.
We are confident that people will see His love through us. Thank you for your prayers and being such a wonderful support system for us back in the United States! Peace to you all.
