Yesterday I became a true missionary. J Pastor Samuel took us to a very secret place. It was a place where we could go and get refreshed through God’s beauty and His word. We sat along side a beautiful river with little waterfalls everywhere. The water was cold but very refreshing as I took my first bath ever IN A RIVER! I used shampoo and soap and also had a chance to shave my legs; I think the little fish were thinking we were crazy!

After swimming, swinging off ropes and bathing we sat and prayed, read our Bibles and just mediated on what God was doing in this town and how lives were changing. That morning at the Sunday worship service we moved all the chairs and just danced like David (but with clothes on J ) and just worshipped God for all He had been doing. This was a very freeing experience. The people of the church are just the so welcoming and kind to us and though they like to touch my white skin. Our traveling partner, Miguel, preached and 6 people gave their lives to Christ. Which after that service we were all just flying high.

The children in this pueblo are just a joy to me. Because I speak Spanish on there level I am building wonderful relationships with them. Most of the children speak Chol first and Spanish second. At the Sunday night service one of the little girls came and sat on my lap. I asked her if she was tired and she said “no” however, within 5 minutes she was fast asleep on my lap. I don’t think I could have gotten any closer to happiness at that moment. The children like to follow us along the streets and play games with us. God is using us in more ways than we can even imagine. These children have never even seen people with white skin. Just giving them a smile goes a long way.

On Friday, the rest of the team will be joining us here in Palenque. They have been ministering in different towns 1 or 2 hours away. Friday we will be debriefing with all the teams together and then we will be racing down to Guatamala.

By the way, we had to buy new brakes for our van because all the mountains around here wore the breaks out. We needed to make sure that our breaks were good because Guatemala has even steeper volcanoes! Love and blessing to you all!
