As many of you guys know, I just got back from The World Race; where I had the opportunity to serve and live in 11 different countries for 11 months. This trip has challenged and changed me in many ways.
As I was nearing the end of my trip, I started asking God; what’s next? Honestly, going into the race, I felt I would have many of my life answers figured out and my future plan set by the end of the trip. Obviously, that was wishful thinking. I just ended up with even more questions and uncertainty, but in the best way possible because I know God has great plans for me. I knew that when I had committed to the World Race, that this would be the first big step in what God had for me.
So, what is the next step?
In January, I will be attending G42 Leadership Academy in Spain. I will be an intern devoted to 6 months of discipleship, community, leadership growth, and learning how to impact the world for Christ’s glory.
It was in Albania (Month 8), where I first truly felt God calling me to go to G42. As excited as I was about this opportunity, I also had my doubts. I wrestled with the decision to go even after I got accepted into the program. Part of me really wanted to accept a full-time job position I was offered and just get going with my life. Much like the World Race, however, I found myself unable to ignore the urge God put in my heart.
My time in the World Race taught me so much about God, my Father, and about myself and my identity in Him. I have learned so much through my time traveling the world, living in community, and serving different ministries and organizations. I have been constantly pushed out of my comfort zone and have walked in areas of growth that I never imagined I needed.
Through the Race, I have also realized my passion for travel, discipleship, and my love for people. I have also started to dream again— unearthing old dreams I’ve long ago buried and taking God, and even myself, out of this small box that I had built my life around.
With all that said, I still have so much more to learn and I believe that I am only beginning to scratch the surface. The World Race was the jumpstart that I needed and I believe that G42 is my launching pad to what God has planned for the rest of my life. I truly believe that the six months of G42 Leadership Academy is not just a program, it is the first six months of my lifetime ministry!
So, what exactly is G42?
The G42 Leadership Academy is a six month program created to disciple, inspire, and equip young men and women to locate their passion— whether in business, non-profit, church planting, or the arts— and to develop a strategy to use that passion to bring Kingdom to Earth.
During those six months, we will dive into important topics through “practical classroom teachings such as business, art and leadership and through biblical/spiritual lessons (Church, Grace, community) etc.” We will also be encouraged to branch out into the local community to partner with existing ministries or even start our own. Another important element of G42 is their emphasis on authentic community. I will be living with a small group of interns putting into action the things that I am learning in class.
In order to attend G42, I will need to raise $6,800 for the entire six-month course. This costs covers all coursework, room & board, and books. It does not cover travel costs (to/from school and weekend trips), international insurance, and personal expense. I am currently working hard to cover most of these costs, but with January right around the corner, I still need your help. I would be honored if you would prayerfully consider continuing to partner with me by making a one time or monthly donation.
