Sorry there are no Pic.s please read anyway! : )

3 days ago my team started what we believed to be a grueling 6 hour climb into the mountains of Haiti to visit a church where no missionaries had ever been. little did we know that the 6 peaks that lay ahead would take 11 hours in the hot Haitian sun. (Don’t worry Daniel is going to put up a video of the adventure very soon!)

I can’t even begin to express all that God taught us this weekend from faith, to perseverance, humility, and patience I will be processing the last three days for months to come.

But there was one moment in particular that brought me to my knees at the majesty of our father.

My smelly family had just showered in the rain runoff from tin church roof and we felt “mountain fresh” and for the first time in two months a little chilly.  The night was black with thick storm clouds covering our starry night lights. With no electricity, the only light we had flashed like bright veins through the clouds. I stood thousands of feet above Haiti on the peak of a mountain and watched the valleys below flash bright as day with lightening that filled the whole sky.   I felt thunder clap so close around me that the mountains shook and my heart stopped. These are the moments I will tell my kids about, the moments that ground my faith in God’s glorious majesty.
