After experiencing India and China, I have witnessed heartbreaking poverty, but it is still so difficult to constantly be around it again . However, it's encouraging to see what God has already done here in the Philippines. We’ve only been in Manila a few days, but I already love this month’s ministry! We are working with K.I.M (Kids International Ministries), which has been amazing so far. They do so many ministry programs for the impoverished, especially children. My friend Bea and I will be leading devotions/discipleship for teenage girls from the JAZ (Josie’s Angels Zone) home. 80% of the girls that live there have been abused, but now live in a safe place. We’re going to be focusing on a Bible passage each day that encourages these girls in their walks with the Lord, letting them know they are beautiful and loved, doing arts and crafts together, and spending time with them.
Psalm 139:14
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."
I am also going to be working in an orphanage nursery helping take care of infants and toddlers. My team helps serve hot meals daily to nearby impoverished neighborhoods in Manila. I am excited to help with the children’s afterschool reading program and help them with their English. I’m ready to dive into ministry and love on these cuties!
