ALL FLIGHTS CANCELLED

My roommates Lynn and Mikala informed us of the news. They crashed through the front door, and dropped their snowy bags at their feet. They had climbed our icy quarter-mile driveway with their luggage because no car could make it down, just to hear the news from the driver at the top. They would not be going to Guatemala today.

They had been preparing for this trip for months; praying about it, packing for it and even dreaming about it at night. We had been praying and dreaming with them until “snowpocolypse” hit and the interstate to Atlanta was shut down and all flights were grounded. They would not be able to reschedule for another week. They could not hide their disappointment and all of us wondered that snowy day;

“God, what are you up to?”

Later that night as I was lying in bed, I spoke a bold but sleepy prayer from my heart to the Father’s:

God…. Um I know your plans are good so whatever you have for me I will be happy and I will obey. But… could I pretty please go to Guatemala? Please. Thanks. Love you. Amen.”

Four days later the snow had melted and we were sitting in Josh’s (my track leader here at CGA) living room where we meet for Worship Track during the week. We were all shifting anxiously in our seats wondering what this “news” was that he had to share with us.

So obviously, there are seven of us that ARE NOT in Guatemala right now. It looks like God had other plans. I called Jonathan Little [the head of the AIM base in Guatemala] as soon as we got news about the flight being cancelled. And we both decided that we needed to pray and see what the Lord was wanting to do…

“Well, 15 minutes later he called me back from Guatemala. And he laughed his response to me…”

“We did not dream big enough…”

Josh related to us the conversation that followed. Jonathan told him how after they first got off the phone, his wife Anne had a vision from the Lord. She saw a mountain with hundreds of people gathered on it. All different skin tones were represented. And all were worshipping the Lord. This thing is supposed to be a lot bigger than we imagined.

Josh then turned to us.

“So I would like to extend an invitation to all of you. Why don’t you all take some time to ask the Father whether or not you are supposed to go. “

Now, you can imagine me this whole time, on the edge of me seat, begging my ears to translate this message to my brain faster!

And I love to imagine the Father that night I prayed a bold and childlike prayer asking for permission. And what it must feel like for your child to ask you for something that you had already planned to give them. Like your daughter or son asking for that one thing they really really wanted that year for Christmas, and you as a parent knowing that it was already wrapped under the Christmas tree.

I imagine the Father smiling and rubbing His big Poppa God hands together,

“Oh, you just wait! It is just around the corner!”

What joy this must bring Him! His kids asking permission to receive what He has already planned to give them!

So with all that being said, it is with great joy and anticipation that I would like to formally announce to you that…

I am going to Guatemala!!!

I have accepted the invitation. (I inserted a 15 second fist pump dance party here while typing this)

And the incredible thing is that because I have been so abundantly blessed by my supporters (ahem, that’s you), I do not have to raise funds.

That is incredible. I still don’t understand it.

But there are others that need your help. Others that have received the invitation and are praying and fasting this week and pressing in with great faith for the Lord to pour out His provision! Others that believe that the thing they prayed for is “wrapped under the tree”. Please pray about partnering with them and with the Father. We need the body.

Here are four incredible women that have been called and are pressing in for provision right now:

*The lovely Lynn Reagan: http://lynnreagan.theworldrace.org/?filename=snowpocalypse-vs-guatemala

*And the dearly loved Drianna: http://driannalitton.theworldrace.org/?filename=worshipping-on-mountains

We will be heading out March 21 and staying for a week. The team is assembling, from all parts of the world. We will be partnering with the Adventures in Missions base near Antigua. They just relocated to a location (check the view below, crazyyyyyy) on a lake where for centuries sacrifices had been made to ancestral gods. Our mission: bring light. God has called His children go, and to praise Him on the mountain. We are His weapon and we need not do more than just open our mouths and sing to our Great Father!

You may ask what we will be doing. Valid question. I asked Him myself what His desires for this trip were this is what He whispered to me:

Isaiah 52:7-10

How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
With their voices they shall sing together;
For they shall see eye to eye
When the Lord brings back Zion.
Break forth into joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For the Lord has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The Lord has made bare His holy arm
In the eyes of all the nations;
And all the ends of the earth shall see
The salvation of our God.

And so I go. We go. To lift our voices together with joy!

 So dream big. Pray boldly. And know that your Father already has good things planned for you that you have not even asked for yet

Abba, thank you that you are bringing our desires in line with with desires you already have for us. Thank you that we don’t have to be ashamed or scared to ask, boldly. And even if the answer is ‘not right now’ or even ‘no’, thank you that we can trust that you are good. Thank you that you already have good things stored up for us, even before we ask for them. Oh, how you love us.”
