These are the photos from my 8 hour adventure at the Children's Home. They gave all the local workers the night off, or rather took them out for the night! which was such a blessing for them. We got to play a part in the evening as we were the stand in "ates" (thats pronounces ah-tay and means big sister) and "titas" (tee-taa, means auntie). It was quite the eventful evening. We babysat the kiddos from 3pm-11pm, and were in charge of play time, dinner time, shower time, and bed time… haha and we may or may not have (leaning on the may have side of things) lost control at multiple points in the evening. At differnt times kids were on the roof, a rather large frog was found and nearly tortured, play ground rules were non existent, 6 naked boys were running around the living room, and no one would go to bed. It was a great night. haha seriously though it was overall hilarious and fun.
Daisy telling us it's about time they be heading out for the night… we are now in charge. Let the fun begin!!
This is joy… she lives up to her name completely 🙂 Most times thats actually a true statement.

this is Marcel she had a crush on drew and couldn't handle it whenever he would say her name.
my camera did get borrowed for a brief moment, a moment I quickly leanred from and got it back.

the frog has been found.

the boys climbed onto the roof and after they were found out were immediately forced to climb back down. probably the most terrifing moment of the night hearing "Tita, Tita" being yelled from some where up high… looking up to the balcony and not seeing anyone and then looking further up and seeing 3 young boys dancing around yelling from the roof. haha thank the Lord none of them got hurt!
Jasmine is the sweetest thing ever and the most helpful of everyone, she's 9 and was one of the only ones to actually do their chore for the evening

DINNER TIME!
5 hours in. and thankful for the break from play time.
Rona, one AMAZING lady, showed up after dinner to help us novices gain some control.

Didn't really work out as soon afterwards the naked parade, that was supposed to be everyone showering began.

relaxing in the living room area before doing a devotional together and then "heading to bed"
All us volunteers got to finally end our evening sitting in peace and quite here in the living room, fondly admiring the Christmas tree and decorations… and maybe missing home during the holidays a little bit… but mostly being reminded of all the gifts each of us have recieved and the blessing that it truly is to be here in Philippines getting to serve God and His people by playing with kids for 8 hours.
