Here is an email update from our pastor in Busia, Rev. Gideon. The girl he is talking about Ajiambo is one of the street kids that we took to the hospital after finding out that they refused her admitance because she had money. A few months prior she had been run over by a tractor, the police had left the men who ran her over go once they paid them off and then when they took her to the hospital after the police left they through her out. When we met her and heard her story we took her to the hospital Gideon's wife "Mama" had worked previously worked at. This is the update on her and the orphanage they trusting the Lord with and starting up.

And email update from Rev. Gideon in Busia:

Hi!

How are you doing ?

We are going on very well.

We managed to trace Ajiambo's home but failed to get the brother.

She was discharged from the hospital two days ago and we managed to pay the hospital bill of Ksh.

3302.00 but it was found that she was HIV+ and was referred to AMPATH.

This is an organization that cares for HIV+ patients in Busia. So we decided that we keep her with florence

because the wound on her leg needs continuous care and enable easier follow-up by AMPATH.

To help with care we have brought Brenda (one of the street girls) to keep her company and assist in bathing her.

We have officially launched a children home and so far we have five (5) orphans including Ajiambo and brenda.

We are not able to build a temporary structure because of limited funds however Florence accepted to keep them in her house and use the money to buy food and pay for medical expenses as we trust God to provide the rest of the needs.

My wife has decided that we will continue giving tea and mandazi to the street kids at least once a week.

Thanks once again for enabling us begin this noble task.

May the good Lord bless you richly.

Please let us know how you are fairing on in Uganda. Thanks and God bless you
