PSALM. 27
p r a y e d   i n t o   l i f e

The following is an excerpt from my journal where I
wrote Psalm 27 into my thoughts and life this month.
Each part taken directly from scripture is in [brackets]
and my prayer is around it.

There’s one thing I want in life.
One thing I seek most…
[to live in the house of the Lord
for all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections.]

God, when all of that happened last month,
your sanctuary is where [you concealed me
when the troubles came,
you hid me there.
You placed me out of reach on a high rock,
you held my head high.] I know you did this
for me, because you love, and for my well being.

But while there in your sanctuary, I am not to just
passively sit and wait. No, if I’m not active, if I’m not
[offering sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising
the Lord], then Satan will still try to get me, even way up there.

[ LORD, my heart has heard you say,
“come and talk with me…”

and my heart responds,
“I am coming.”
]

Protect my mind, oh God, from the enemy.
[Teach me how to live,
lead me along the right path.
Do not let me fall into the enemy’s hands,
for he so often accuses me of things I’ve never done.]

But just as the Lord waits for me,
I will [wait patiently for the lord].
Because often in the waiting does strength grow.
Often in the empty feelings God is doing the most.

I will continue on this race.
I will endure,
I will be [brave and courageous,
yes, I am confident that I will see the Lord’s goodness.]

On the race I learned to pray scripture into my prayers.
What better way to pray? We know the words of God
are all true. His promises are backed by His name, & He
always keeps His words to us. Praying His words into
ours is a pure, simple way to pray. It has refreshed me
in times when I have no idea what to think, say, or do.

That’s really all I had to share today, just some scripture:)

Also, it’s official…I’ll be home in 58 days.
I’m flying into Chicago on December 6th.
Can’t get “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” out of my head!

(I used this pic in a blog I wrote about leaving home,
and here it is again in a blog about coming home!)
