Phillip James Henry

Phillip: Lover of Horses

James: He Who Supplants

Henry: Ruler of the House

I don’t remember when I first realized my name meant lover
of horse. The Phil part comes from “philos” which means brotherly love, like
Philadelphia. The “ip” part comes from some word meaning horse. It’s actually
used in the word h”ip”popatmus, meaning water horse (I don’t have internet to
look all this up right now so this is all from memory).

I do remember finding this out and actually being
embarrassed. My brother’s all have the names like Matthew(Gift of God),
Benjamin(Son of the Right Hand), and Daniel(God is My Judge).

Then there’s me, the Lover of Horses.

It was about 4 months ago when the Holy Spirit revealed my
name to me.

I literally was just hanging out with God and He revealed it
to me.

For the past 17 months of my life my heart and the steps of
my life have been directed by this desire for men to know who they are, for
boys to become men, and for fathers to become sons to become fathers.

Anyways, I was literally just hanging out with God and He
revealed why I’m named Phillip James Henry. He was speaking to me about my
passions and my life. As we were hanging out, my name popped into my head.
“Lover of horses,” I thought out loud. All of a sudden there was revelation
that horses are men, and men need to be restored to being actual horses, noble
steeds, no longer chickens or pigs or goats, animals that really just provide
sustenance, but animals that produce ridiculous, ridiculous amounts of labor. The thought of what horses really are really resonates with what men are
supposed to be like in my heart. Some words that describe horses are power, grace, freedom, beauty, nobility, strength.

James comes from the name Jacob. If you know the story of
Jacob and Esau, Jacob takes the birthright from Esau because he is the oldest.
He usurps the inheritance from his brother being the firstborn. The idea
behind this is that men are held captive and imprisoned and they need to be
taken by force literally from the enemy.

Henry is pretty self-explanatory: ruler of the house. These
men coming together, these sons coming into their sonship forming groups of
sons and becoming a king in the lives of those men and my family.

So, Phillip James Henry. A man who loves, fights for, and claims men to be men.

There’s so much for me to be proud of when it comes to my
name, to who I am, because my Father is proud of me as a son.

I know you might ask, “how do you know that the Holy Spirit
spoke to you?” or something like that. There’s no denying what hearing this and
understanding this has done in my spirit. All I know is that having this name
revealed to me literally makes me stand taller as a man, firm,
confident and stronger. Understanding this has pushed me further in the way
that I love encounter God, people and want to see His kingdom come to earth.

There’s nothing like hearing who you are from the Father.
