For the entirety of my christian walk with God, as the good Father He is, He has constantly been speaking truth over my life. Teaching and edifying me so that I can become more like Him. In my lazyness and ignorance I would hear His voice, rejoice in it for the passing moment and let it get lost in the same wind it came on. In this season of my life I come to realize how bad I’ve been in taking heed and being a good steward of His life-giving words. This is why this past month God prompted me to start a new habit. I bought a pocket journal which I carry around with me everywhere I go so that whenever His words come I am ready to record it so that I can meditate on it and share it in a later time.

A little bit more on this so that you can understand how my mind works and how it relates and communicates with God. Whenever I use the phrase of God speaking to me I refer to passing thoughts that carry a profound teaching or a new perspective that challenges a worldview and can bring life, freedom and inspiration to whoever pays attention. It can also be an illustration or example drawn from nature or a specific circumstance which reveals and connects in many different levels to a spiritual truth or dynamic. To attributing the thought to God I do it by faith and by the understanding of the nature of our relationship and my inability to come up with these thoughts on my own.

Up next I share with you some of those thoughts that have come to me over the past couple of weeks. Not all of them have come straight from my mind for not everytime God speaks through thoughts, sometimes He speaks through other people as well. My hope is that at least one of them can create a lasting impression on you and bringing blessing to your life and awakening you to pursue Him and the greater life that He offers those who believe in Him.

-In most cases knowledge preceeds understanding and understanding preceeds action. But without action and experimentation our curiosity for knowledge (discovering the right questions to ask) will atrophy and become stagnant. If this happens, we enter a vicious circle that keeps us from growing to the fullness of ourselves and newer and deeper understanding becomes almost impossible to acquire.

-The hungry will get fed and the thirsty will quench their thirst. We most aggresively take hold of the Kingdom of God, its realities and its promises. Are we hungry enough? Are we active enough? Are we desperate enough? Or are we self-satisfied? Are we comfortable with what we have and already have received everything we wanted and hoped for? If we are, we are ignorant of what God has offered us in Christ and have been deceived to live an earthly and temporal life when we could attain a heavenly and eternal one.

-God is our Father. He enjoys seeing us be free to be ourselves and to have fun with Him. As a Father this moves His heart and brings Him pleasure. When He prompts us to dance, we shall dance with Him! When He prompts us to yell and to scream from the top of our longs we too shall do this with Him, breaking everything that holds us from doing so! If He invites us to laugh, pausing every worry and laying it aside, we take Him up on the invitation! If we purposely allow ourselves to loose ourselves in following and joining Him in whatever He calls us to do, we’ll be able to taste in a new way every time His love for us and take part of His joy filled heart.

-We receive the peace of the Lord so that we can go to war-ridden countries and enter conflicting circumstances that need resolve and relief. We receive the hope and joy of the Lord so that we can actively approach individuals, families and communities ruled by sorrow and despair that are in need of hope. What we receive from God (financially, emotionally, spiritually) is not to be kept for our enjoyment only but it has to be openly and actively given away for the advancement of the Kingdom of Heaven on this earth. If we do not do so we are simply ignoring and missing out on His infinite capacity to provide and His good willingness to do so.

-To have authority you need to be under authority. It has to be given to us by a superior. If there is no one above you and yet you claim to possess authority you are just a delirious loud mouth.

-In some seasons of life God is silent so that we may draw closer to Him. He does it to draw us nearer and so that we may engage in His pursuit. Like a loving Father playing hide and seek with His children, He hides from us in fun and amazing places so that when we find Him we may be pleasantly surprised and amazed with what He wanted to show to us.

-When we place our thoughts and emotions on earthly things we reap the fruits of this earth (fear, worry, guilt, shame, despair, etc.) but when we place our eyes on heavenly things we will reap the heavenly fruit our spirit needs to pursue our Father.

-Whenever there is a need, there is always a seed that in time will provide a harvest that will abundantly satisfy that need. We are called to be sowers and farmers that teach people around us our trade instead of being simple distributors or providers, creating a dependance on ourselves instead than on God.

Hope you enjoyed it! Let me know if any specific one resonated with you or if you don’t agree with any one of them 🙂
