It’s hard to believe that month 2 is drawing to a close. Bulgaria has been nothing short of amazing. We spent the majority of the month in Dobromirka, a picturesque town about 45 minutes outside Tarnovo (the old capital). We were blessed to live in an incredible conference center that had dorm rooms so we had our own space! Nasko and DiDi are the property caretakers. He was a pastor for 30 years and after retiring, they came to this small town to help facilitate conferences that teach people how to teach others about Christ. They have an unbelievable work ethic. They were always patient with us. The light of Christ in their lives was undeniable and it was contagious. The best part of the whole month was being able to help serve them by doing some of the tasks they do on a daily basis to lessen their workload. We had the chance to do some projects but the gratefulness I saw in them when we did simple tasks was so full of love. It’s refreshing to me to see that in others and the Lord really established a joy in my heart to be able to serve them in that way. It was such a blessing to experience the faithfulness of believers across the globe and how passionate they are for the Lord and for seeing His Word go forth.

Something else that was so encouraging for me to see was the marriage that DiDi and Nasko have. We were able to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with them and it was so fun to share in that. Naturally, they spent the whole day cooking a meal for us. The way that they treat each other is an incredible example for us. He serves her and does so many little things to help her throughout the day. She respects him and cares for him. And the best are the little moments I would catch where they would share a smile or a hug and you could feel their love for each other. I admire them. I have no idea how they came to be married, if it was a choice or if it were arranged, but they are always putting the other one first and have grown to love the other more for it.

This helped me gain perspective on my own marriage. This month, I became more aware of the way that Myers serves, not only me, but others as well. He does so without being asked. He anticipates needs and finds a way to meet them. He brings laughter and joy into so many situations. I am so grateful of who he is in Christ and the way that the Lord is growing him and using him. I am thankful that he cares for me and appreciates the things I do. He treats me like a partner and values my opinion. He puts me before himself so often and I am blessed that I am able to call myself his wife. I am excited to see how the Lord continues to deepen our relationship and love for each other as we serve and draw closer to Him.

We are currently in Sofia, Bulgaria and will be heading to Brasov, Romania on Wednesday for a few days to debrief with our entire squad. From there we aren’t exactly sure where we are heading or what we will be doing but our team of 7 will be alone this month. Pray for us as we travel and meet a new ministry contact. Pray that our team will work well together to serve them and assist in their ministry as best we can. Pray for DiDi and Nasko as they continue to serve joyfully and pray that the Lord will continue to bless the work they are doing! Thank you so much for your continued support and prayers!

Sidenote: Here’s a link to a video that our teammate, Owen, made about us this month. Enjoy!
