Dear Reader:
I first want to thank you for taking time out of your day to read this letter. I have the opportunity to share this journey with you and am happy to do it. For a few years now I knew that God was calling me to be a missionary but I felt like it was my calling to do that here in the states. One Tuesday, back in April, I was at a bible study called House of Grace. That night we were having a get to know each other type of thing and one of the questions that was ask was; if money wasn’t an issue, what would you do? The pastor told us to name the first thing that came to our mind. So, the first thing that came to my mind was to be a missionary in Indonesia. Well a couple of months past after that when I was looking at where some of the future trips were going. When I looked at the trips in January and saw the word Indonesia I hear a voice that said “GO!!!” The next thing I knew is that I was filling out the application. Since then I have been accepted and will be leaving for my trip in January 2011.
The trip is called The World Race. It will go to eleven different countries in eleven months. Some of the countries that I will have the chance to go to are: Haiti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Christianity is growing in many of these countries, while some of these countries have not heard of the gospel. My desire during this trip is to grow and strengthen my relationship with Christ. I plan on using the things I learn along the way to minister to the people of these countries, in hopes of them seeing the love of Christ through me.
I have faith that if this trip is the will of God then He will provide. I pray that He does this through you. I would be most thankful if you will join me on my journey by supporting me financially and/or through prayer. I must raise $15,000 for the entire year that goes directly to Adventure in Missions. This will cover all my expenses while in the field. If you choose to support me monthly you can select the start and end date along with the gift amount. Monthly donations would be most helpful if they started as soon as possible to help pay for initial cost. Also, I am specifically asking for people who will commit to pray for me each day until I return.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures in Missions PO Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. Please send response cards as soon as possible.
Adventures in Missions is registered with the IRS as a 501 © (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult a tax advisor.
I am so excited to be going on this journey. I pray that I will show the love of Christ to the people that I come in contact with. I hope that you will prayerfully consider being a part of my journey. Also, you can check out my blog which is mikehall.theworldrace.org. You can also donate online through my blog.
