Rassvet: “Sunrise”
“In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” –Psalm 5:3

This Last month with lived in a village called Rassvet, which in Moldova means “Sunrise”. For the past two weeks before coming here to debrief, the Lord was waking me up around 4:45 each morning to spend time with him. The Bible speaks a lot of mornings and how we can come to the Lord and get filled for the day ahead. It has taken me a lot of time to realize how necessary this is. Throughout your day are many spiritual battles, and if you get filled up with God first thing before any interactions with anyone…I believe you will be filled up with the spirit enough, that there is an overflow. I want to be so full of the spirit, that nothing can shake my day. I want to walk in the presences of the Lord every day. Knowing that the Lord is calling me to ministry in the future, I know that this will be something that if I want to pour out I need to come before the Lord early. There have been mornings in my walk with Christ where time in the morning didn’t happen; my attitude was that I would say a quick prayer and it was ok because I wasn’t a “morning person”.
Well the world has worn me out, and there have been days where I have experienced a real weariness. Where I have felt almost, well…Empty. I thought what is wrong with me, why don’t I feel the Lord’s joy? What is dragging me down?
While we were in Malaysia our Pastor, Pastor Yesu, reminded us to be filled with the Lord’s presences early in the morning. Every day he said that he gets up at about 4:00 am. I thought when he told me this…oh my gosh is this man crazy? Yes I have heard of waking up early to pray to God but 4:00 am…then it started to convict me in a healthy way. I wasn’t starting my day with enough of Jesus. On the World Race we pour out, and out, and out…month after month, day after day. country after country. What I have finally learned is that if I want to be ready for the spiritual battles throughout my day, and for what God has in store for me I NEED to fill up with him. More than I need breakfast or anything else in the morning. I need to be filled up with Jesus. There is a time early in the morning when the Lord’s peace is heavier…and I have found that is early in the morning. My prayer is not just opening my bible…but I have found that God speaks to his kids in different ways. For me its through worship and prayer, and scripture. Each day it looks differently of course. Sometimes we get so caught up with reading the word that we forget to talk to the Father. There is a balance. Thank you Father for teaching me to come to you early in the morning…and for being patient with me while I learned this. <3 Now Here are some scriptures about morning prayer…enjoy 🙂
