CHARMED
The last night on Bangla Road

The last night we spent on Bangla Road we had the incredible favor of God in order to have a worship night right in the middle of the red light district. For real this was incredible. Some of plans came through last minute and some of our team was practicing a few hours beforehand trying to put last minute things together. Anyways I had told one of the men on my team from Montana that I would sing with him if he would like & I was super excited about it. Well…practice rolled around and it seemed like they already had enough people & we weren’t sure how many people would be able to sing and lead worship so I was told that I should just come & that God would use me to talk to people…this was really hard for me at the time because I really had my heart set on singing. I thought that the Lord told me I would sing…One of my teammates, Emily, had shared with me that she felt that the Lord had something special for me in who I would talk to you at night…
So we get to our worship night out at the Bar and there was a handful of other people the whole time that were not from our group. Maybe about 5 or 6 people total the entire time we were there that actually stayed. There was one woman in particular that stood out to me. She was there to sing after our group a whole 2 hours early! I thought to myself, God…this can not be an accident. She is hear for a divine appointment.
So, as the night went on we sang a few worship songs. I ordered my red bull & then the Lord was tugging on my heart to go and talk to this woman who sat across the room from me at a table by herself. Anyhow I stepped out of my comfort zone & started talking to her. She spoke English beautifully & after talking to her for a while I realized it was no accident that we had met. She happened to be from the Philippines which blew my mind since our previous country was the Philippines. After talking to her a while ,I was able to share a little bit of my heart while she shared some of her story. She shared with me that her family was back in the Philippines but she had moved to Thailand 10 years ago, at 20 years of age, because there was more opportunity to make more money there. I could understand a little bit having just come from the Philippines where the poverty is deep. She also had told me about her divorce, her husband cheating on her, and her children that she had to support. After talking to her a while I was able to share my faith. I was a little apprehensive having been told that Thailand is Buddhist nation & that not many people would have any clue if I started talking about Jesus. After sharing pieces of my testimony, she told me that she was Christian too! I knew that God was pursuing her heart. So I spoke God’s love over and into her. Telling her how much love the Father had for her no matter what she had done, his forgiveness was waiting for her. Tears were welling up her eyes during the worship & it was as if the Lord gave me a window into her soul to see her heartbreak, her loneliness, and her pain. Some of my testimony lined right up with her heartbreak…
In surrender of what my desire was the Lord showed up & used me to love on this woman who knew him…I was honored. After talking with Charm, I was able to pray over her healing, restoration, and new life. I pray that she will come completely back to the Lord. She talked of going back to the Philippines even though her family life was rough she missed them a lot. Please be in prayer for Charm & her walk with Christ….pray God swarms her with his relentless love as he does all of us…God has a fierce love. A love that chases us in the most unlikely of places. A bar in the middle of Phuket on Bangla Road. He will work just about anywhere…It was a great last night on Bangla Road. I was Charmed…
