Like Christ Loved The Church

One of the challenges while being on the WR is being single… I am secure in my identity in Christ, but there is still this longing within myself to find that completeness which God intended. I think this concept goes all the way back to the story of creation when God created man in the Garden of Eden. He created the man to "work and take care of it". He then created woman and said; "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him".(Genesis 2:18)I know that now the time is not right, but God laid it on my heart to be praying for my husband. I know that because of God's love for me as his daughter, he will provide me with a man that loves me like Christ loves the Church. I have had trouble knowing what it means to let a man lead & trusting God with that intimate part of my heart…but because I can trust God, I can trust his plans too.

While on the race God laid it on my heart to pray for my "husband to be"…so I created a prayer. So for all the ladies out there, find yourself someone who loves you as much as Christ loves the Church. Don't settle because that's a lot of love.

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-for we are members of his body." – Ephesians 5: 25-29

For now, I am united to Christ & my heart belongs to Jesus. In the meantime he is making me into that "suitable" helper", a Wife of Noble Character, and a Woman of God that he intended me to be.
