It FEELS like Home <3

The Philippines & KIM (Kids International Ministries)
www.KIDSIM.ORG

So we have settled down a little bit with our new ministry location in the Philippines after a long 2 days of flying through Qatar and Bangkok with a 24 hr layover….First time I have ever slept over in a airport. Lots of fun when you have a large group of family with you : ) The squad is really becoming more like family as time goes on.

When we arrived in the Philippines,  there was a couple that greeted us and said I looked familiar! After talking with them for only one minute we figured out that they went to Clarion University where I went to college & graduated a year after me. So crazy.

There are 3 ladies that have been cooking for us. They cook a variety of foods, some of which smelled like home cooked Italian meals right from home. Turns out after talking to them, that they have Italian friends who have taught them how to cook! Hot showers, coffee, ice cubes, bedrooms….Everything about here feels like home.  I love it.

Oh and the children….I LOVE THEM. Might have to adopt one someday soon…

We got a tour of the ministry & what they do and its so exciting. There is a boys & girls Children’s home across the street. The ministry does a variety of projects. Part of their ministry is the PEACE plan.

Jeff, who is the director of the ministry here is a really amazing guy who loves Jesus…

He said “It’s not about churches, its about how we can have disciples disciple others”. He believes in going deep in relationship with a couple children/people and really discipling those we reach out to. He is also big on prayer which I love…While we are in the Philippines we have talked about possibly developing 24 hour prayer.

There were a group of youth from China here doing a Week of Love trip & one night we were able to do an amazing spirt-filled worship night with them. It was so sweet we prayed for them and then they offered to pray for us. I met a girl named Lucia & now have a friend from China.

Tonight @ 1:45 AM we are making our way to the airport to fly to another island in the Philippines called Mindanao. This area is more of a village setting in the mountians . We will be participating in working with the children’s home there which has 26 kids, tutoring kids, construction teenagers, feeding families every day, helping with a prison ministry with youth who have been recovering from tough situations. We are bringing with us a 10 ft. container’s worth of food! I am so honored and blessed to be a part of what God has going on with KIM & I am beyond excited about the month to come! I cannot wait for what I will learn or what the Lord holds in store…
