This beautiful young girl is a 7 year old from Nicaragua. With a family, with dreams, and with a hope for a future… I have been sponsoring Katya since last summer and I am really having trouble coming to the realization that I can not afford to continue to sponspor her while I am gone. It breaks my heart that I can no longer afford this…
The first letter dear Katya wrote she expressed how happy she was that I was sponsoring her so that she could go to school. Her future dream is to work in a beauty salon. She is quite the artist and sends me the most adorable pictures. She enjoys learning bible verese, drawing, siging, praying, and watching cartoons. In her family is Mom (Maria), Dad (Juan), and one brother Germin, and a sister Genesis. She is able to learn and read because of my sponsorship. She was so excited that for her birthday she got a PAIR OF SHOES, and a doll which was not something she would have got had I not sponsored her! It gets me so much every day she asks and prays that I am in good HEALTH. Yes I said my health. Health is something we often take for granted.
She is the sweetest, sweetest little girl who says I am in her prayers, and that she loves me. She is full of so, SO much love. Sponsoring her initially I never realized how much joy it would bring me to know that I am helping this little girl and bringing her so much joy in the process! It has really been a double blessing to recieve her thoughtful notes, pictures, and letters. She wants to meet me and I am hoping to be able to go visit her in Nicaragua someday after I return from my trip.
My prayer is that someone will sponsor her while I am gone. It is ONLY $38 (one time out to eat!) a month through Compassion International. Please don’t make me have to write a letter to this child of God who deserves to have her needs met, who deserves a chance to learn, to play, to have shoes, and to know that she is LOVED by God.
