We wanted to take some time and give you all an update on what we have been up to and what God has in store for the near future!  A little over week ago, we left our squad debrief in Tirana, Albania and headed an hour north to a small city called Lezhe. We have been working with an organization called Lightforce who run a camp and farm in Lezhe as well as a camp and clinic in Uganda, Africa. For the past week, Y squad has been living together and working on the farm to help bring lift to the ministry here, as the farm allows the ministry to be self sustaining. Specifically, we worked with a small team to demolish pig stalls in a large shed so it can house about 250 new goats the farm has recently purchased. Using sledgehammers, pick axes, and chisels, we hacked away at the concrete inside the shed before hauling away all the rubble to make a rock path on the backside of the farm. It has been difficult yet rewarding work as the new goats purchased will help not only the ministry in Albania, but also will bring in money to open a school and free clinic in Uganda.

One of the best parts of the World Race program is the ability to move to where there is a great need and provide relief aid.

We are very excited to have been presented with an opportunity to partner with Samaritan’s Purse! Tonight we are leaving our ministry site in Albania to move to the Island of Lesbos, Greece to partner with the Samaritans Purse in receiving and caring for Syrian refugees! Right now we have very few details as to what this ministry will look like, but we have been told to expect 12 hour shifts and emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually draining situations. I’m sure many of you saw and remember the tragic picture of the little boy washed up on the Turkish beach. We will be stationed on the opposite shore from where he was found, where his family was trying to go. Lesbos is one of the first places in the European Union the refugees can reach and thousands arrive everyday. Our squad will be working on the front-line to care for these people by helping provide food, shelter, and registration.  For more information on what our work will look like with Samaritan’s Purse please click here. We ask that you pray for us and our squad that God will prepare us for the work we have been called into, and for the refugees who are seeking a future. When we reach Greece, we will do our best to give an update on what exactly we will be doing, as it can change at any moment.

Thank you again for your love and support!
